Raise your hand if you have no idea what this is. Ok, good; I’m not alone. I’ve been enjoying writing these beauty blogs for Elan Vitale immensely, but the topics I have previously posted about were ones that I was, at the very least, mildly familiar with. So, I thought it high time I tackled a subject I knew nothing about (*moment of silence for the lifesaver that is Google*). And, can I just say, I am SO happy I decided to do a little research on micropigmentation (learn something new everyday, my friends!). I think we can all agree that technology can either be a blessing or a curse. But in the case of the technology and science behind micropigmentation, it is a blessing of the highest order. If you’re curious, as I was, allow me to enlighten you because this is something, cross my heart, you are really going to want to know about. I haven’t steered you wrong yet!
Micropigmentation is a big word that basically means permanent makeup and works sort of in the same vein as tattooing. Where it differs, however, is in its practically microscopic precision, small, insanely accurate detail, and, no exaggeration, life-changing results. It is far more refined than tattoos. Now don’t get me wrong, tattoos are amazing and yes, they too can be a positive, enhancing experience, but micropigmentation is so much more.
When I first started reading about this service, I thought it was simply permanent makeup. Which is great! Pretty darn fantastic, actually. Never having to line your eyes, fill your brows, or find that perfect shade of lipstick that makes your baby blues or gorgeous greens POP? Being able to ditch your makeup routine and the expense it brings? Sign. Me. Up! But guys, it gets better. I know, impossible, right? Wrong. That is barely scratching the surface of the awesomeness micropigmentation is. And while I would love to spend a whole blogs worth of time regarding the makeup aspect, I’ll have to save that for a later post because I want to touch on something that is so, SO important and truly one of the best the gifts the world of makeup has given us.
A very dear, close relative of mine recently underwent chemotherapy so I have seen the effects that the horror of cancer produces. I also have a close friend whose son was born with a cleft lip and palate. You’re probably wondering what this has to do with Elan Vitale’s micropigmentation therapy, but stay with me here; I’m not rambling, I promise. This treatment can help post-mastectomy patients, breast re-construction recipients, and cleft lip sufferers regain their self-confidence and self-esteem by repairing damaged areolas, reducing and possibly even eliminating surgical scars, and correcting eyebrow and hair loss due to alopecia, old age, or genetic abnormalities. Micropigmentation is also used to disguise certain skin conditions such as vitiligo, sun spots, or unwanted discolouration due to birthmarks, as well as receding hair lines or male pattern baldness.
With a fine, ultra-thin needle, the dermal layer of your skin is gently pricked where pigment (usually iron oxide) is then deposited. Sessions usually last a quick 20-30 minutes; that’s all! A mere half hour to restore your self-image! If that’s not the best thing since sliced bread, I don’t know what is. Whether you desire fuller eyebrows or want to show cancer that it will never win, Elan Vitale will meet you at wherever you are on the spectrum and privately and professionally help you believe you are the beautiful person we know you are.
