A letter from the Owner…
To our valued clients, friends, family and community members!
What would you do if you knew of a child in your neighbourhood that might not receive a Christmas gift?
I’m absolutely convinced that you would provide for that child.
Can I provide you with a unique opportunity??
On a monthly basis I spend a morning at the Open Arms Mission food bank on Fifth Street in Welland offering haircuts free of charge. This is something I began over 8 years ago -it is never lost on me how many families in our community rely on the food bank and services offered by OAM.
On a typical morning the lobby is full of individuals that could use an encouraging word, coffee, donut and some food to feed their families. I am astounded by the “need”, time and time again.
Many of us have forgotten what the word “need” means.
How beautiful that our community comes together to provide for anyone in a position of need!
A special circumstance was brought to my attention this week after speaking with my children’s school principal.
The school has put together a make shift sponsorship program for a few of their families that will struggle with gifts this Christmas. By offering to sponsor these gifts, families can focus their funds on the necessities.
How can we sit back and decline an offer to spoil a few extra kids this Christmas?!
We’re asking for your generosity! And would love to offer you our thanks!
The family brought to our attention includes a single mom that is very pregnant and 2 young boys ages 8 and 6!
My staff and I have committed to helping this family enjoy the generosity of a supportive community. Let us bless and be blessed.
We are hoping that our customers that are able, might take advantage of this opportunity. If you are able and willing, feel free to bring a small gift for the “soon to be” newborn baby boy or his mama, to our location. We will be accepting donations until December 12th!
If it isn’t too much to ask -a pack of diapers, a tiny outfit or any item useful for a sweet baby would truly bless this family.
In return we would like to extend our thanks with a $5 coupon for your next visit with us and a ballot to be entered for a $50 gift certificate!
The Christmas Season is an incredible time to stretch your soul and share your love; what a beautiful way to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Please don’t get caught up in the commercialism of the holidays. Take time for what matters most -giving and receiving love.
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.
All of us at Elan Vitale wish you all the joy that the Holidays can bring.
Wishing you peace, love and plenty of laughter!
